Sri Lanka, Jan. 29 -- The crime rate in the country keeps on mounting in the Southern parts of the country with four fatal shootings on average taking place each day, according to media reports. The worst affected are the Colombo and Gampaha Districts. Drastic action is called for by the new Government to arrest this alarming trend lest the country descends into a state of anarchy. Already we see the Government taking such measures to deal with the situation. But much more needs to be done to halt the decline.
