Sri Lanka, Dec. 19 -- The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has taken steps to suspend Dr. Rukshan Bellana from his duties as Deputy Director of the National Hospital Colombo.

The suspension has been communicated through an official letter issued by the Ministry. It follows preliminary investigations which found that Dr. Bellana, while holding a senior government position, had made remarks on various media platforms that allegedly led to controversy and contributed to public disturbance.

The Ministry has stated that further disciplinary action will be initiated in connection with the matter.
