Sri Lanka, Jan. 30 -- Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa, a former Colombo District candidate for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya in the last general election, has been suspended following an investigation by the Public Service Commission's Health Services Committee. The suspension comes after it was found that he violated the Establishments Code.

This is not the first time Dr. Sanjeewa has faced disciplinary action. In 2022, he was previously suspended for making controversial statements regarding child malnutrition.
