Sri Lanka, Feb. 3 -- The Dompe Rotary Club has launched a project to rescue cattle destined for slaughter and provide them to farming families, to care for the animals while gaining income.

As part of this initiative, Dompe Rotary Club President Nimesh Sachintha and former President Prof. Chandana Jayaratne donated three dairy cows to Lahiru Rathnayake from Indolamulla, Dompe, on Saturday (01).

The event was attended by project organiser Amal Bandara, Secretary Tharindi Ellepola, Treasurer Mahesh Gunaratne, and Committee members Janaka Jayaratne, Ranjith Nihal, and Chandani Jayaratne, among others.
