Srilanka, June 18 -- The Colombo Magistrate's Court has remanded three suspects, including a specialist doctor attached to the Sri Jayewardenepura Hospital, in connection with the alleged sale of hospital medicines at inflated prices through a third party.
The suspects were arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption and produced before Colombo Additional Magistrate Harshana Kekunawala on the night of June 17.
Bribery Commission officials informed the court that investigations into the matter are still ongoing and requested that the suspects be held in remand custody. The Magistrate accepted the request and ordered the trio to be remanded until June 24.
