Srilanka, April 1 -- The Election Commission has announced that the distribution of official ballot papers for the local government polls will commence on April 16.

The commission stated that ballot distribution will take place on Sundays, April 20 and 27, as special distribution days, and will continue until April 29.

As part of the process, the Election Commission will hand over the official ballot papers to the Postal Department for distribution starting April 16.

Additionally, postal ballot papers for the local government elections will be handed over to the post office on April 7, with distribution conducted under special police security.
