Sri Lanka, Jan. 19 -- Assistant Indian High Commissioner Raakesh Natraj called on the Most Venerable Tihibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangalabhidhana Mahanayake Thera of the Malwatte Chapter of the Syamopali Maha Nikaya at Malwathu Viharaya on January 15 to seek his blessings on assuming his duties.

The Most Venerable Mahanayake Thera welcomed Natraj to Kandy and conveyed his appreciation of the civilizational links between India and Sri Lanka, as exemplified by the shared heritage of Buddhism. He recalled with warmth the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sri Dalada Maligawa in 2017.
