Sri Lanka, March 22 -- Skipper Dhananjaya de Silva scored a brilliant 106 off 155 balls, hitting 14 fours, as Dambulla posted 260 in response to Galle's first-innings total of 267. However, rain stopped play with 27 overs remaining on the second day of the NSL four-day cricket match at the Galle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.
Dambulla faced an early setback at 57 for 4, but Dhananjaya and Sonal Dinusha (39 off 63 balls, 4 fours, 1 six) built a 107-run stand for the fifth wicket to steady the innings. After tea, Dhananjaya reached his century and later added a valuable 67-run eighth-wicket stand with Lasith Embuldeniya, who remained unbeaten on 54 off 84 balls (4 fours, 1 six).
