Srilanka, Feb. 18 -- Politicians representing both ruling party and the opposition air their views on the maiden budget, proposals presented by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake as Finance Minister. Finance and Planning Deputy Minister Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma said Budget 2025 is a comprehensive financial plan based entirely on the mandate given by the people of the country.

"Unlike traditional budgets that focus solely on providing relief, this budget aims to uplift living standards across multiple sectors, including fisheries, agriculture, public and private sector employees, and the plantation industry. It is designed to propel the nation in a new direction, fostering long-term growth and development.
