Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- Deputy Minister of Public Security Sunil Watagala has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media claiming that he had purchased a house in the Cinnamon Life housing complex.
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page today (15), Watagala described the claims as "false and defamatory propaganda," stressing that there was "no truth" in them.
"I have not done anything that would blatantly damage the trust that my party and the public have placed in me," he said, adding that as both a lawyer and a political activist, he has always stood for freedom of expression.
