Sri Lanka, May 31 -- With the onset of the Southwest monsoon, 21 districts have been affected by heavy rains and gusty winds across the country.
A total of 2,249 families in 219 Divisional Secretariat Divisions of 21 districts have been affected as of yesterday (30) evening. The Disaster Management Center (DMC) Secretary, K. G. Dharmathilaka said that three people have lost their lives due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions in the country.
Meanwhile, the Government has decided to provide compensation to all those who lost their lives and have been injured due to the adverse weather conditions.
