Srilanka, Feb. 11 -- Medical Research Institute (MRI) Entomology Officer Gayan Kumarasinghe said yesterday (10) that research has revealed that the highest prevalence of dengue-carrying Aedes aegypti mosquito occurs between 7.00 am and 11.00 am.

He said that the activity of that mosquito is not so much in the evening and the mosquito bite that infects a person with dengue mostly happens in the morning.

Kumarasinghe said these findings have been made following research conducted on the dengue mosquito for about a year, by the Medical Research Institute's Director Dr. Suranga Dolamulla and the institute's chief specialist Dr. Rohitha Muthugala.

The research has also revealed that the dengue mosquito adapts very quickly.
