Srilanka, Jan. 31 -- The Railway Department has announced that commuters using the Coastal Line should expect delays of approximately 15 minutes during peak morning and evening hours today (31) and tomorrow (01).

The scheduled delays are necessary to facilitate vital improvements to the signaling system between the Colombo Fort and Wellawatte railway stations.These upgrades are designed to increase the frequency of trains operating on both the upper and lower tracks, eventually leading to a more efficient service.

The Railway Department regrets any inconvenience caused to passengers during this maintenance period and appreciates their patience as these essential infrastructure improvements are completed.
