Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- Deputy Minister of Public Security, Sunil Watagala, has sent a letter of demand requesting Rs. 2 billion in compensation from SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa. The demand was filed through Attorney-at-Law Manjula Balasuriya on 22 September 2025, in response to a claim filed by Namal Rajapaksa on 10 September 2025.

Rajapaksa, through his attorney Sanka Karunaratne, had sought Rs. 1 billion in damages over statements made by Watagala at a media conference, claiming they had damaged his reputation.
