Sri Lanka, Jan. 9 -- Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya announced in Parliament today (09) that web links will no longer be included in educational modules for the second and third school terms.
The decision was made by the Academic Affairs Board of the National Institute of Education (NIE).
She clarified that previously referenced websites are free to access and do not involve any payment.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the use of government websites does not raise concerns over transparency, accountability, or procurement.
A Task Force for Digital Transformation in Education has prepared policies and guidelines on child protection in digital learning, which will be submitted to the NIE Academic Advisory Board.
