Sri Lanka, Nov. 27 -- The number of fatalities from landslides in the Badulla district has risen to 11, with at least seven people reported missing, authorities said.

According to Badulla District Secretary Panduka Abeywardena, six landslides were reported in several areas, including Madolsima, Galuda, and Kahataruppa. Relief and disaster management teams, along with local residents, are continuing search operations for the missing amid challenging conditions.

Police have warned that the risk of further landslides remains high, urging residents to remain vigilant while rescue operations are ongoing.
