Srilanka, Nov. 29 -- The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has reported that the death toll from recent adverse weather conditions in Sri Lanka has risen to 153. In a statement issued today (29), the DMC confirmed that 191 people remain missing as search and relief operations continue across multiple districts.

According to the latest figures, 774,724 individuals from 217,263 families in 25 districts have been affected by the disaster, with many areas still grappling with flooding, landslides, and heavy rainfall.

The DMC also reported that 100,898 people from 27,494 families are currently staying in 798 evacuation centers nationwide, as authorities continue efforts to provide relief and ensure safety for those displaced.
