Sri Lanka, Dec. 22 -- The Welfare Benefits Board has announced that the deadline for updating personal details under the Aswesuma Welfare Benefits Programme will end on December 31, 2025.

The update requirement applies to all individuals who registered under the first phase of the programme, including both those currently receiving benefits and those who are not.

In line with the Welfare Benefits Act No. 24 of 2002, the list of eligible welfare beneficiaries must be updated annually to ensure accuracy and fairness in the distribution of benefits.

The Board has warned that beneficiaries who fail to update their information within the stipulated period will lose their Aswesuma Beneficiary Allowance.
