Srilanka, March 12 -- The Election Commission has announced that the acceptance of postal vote applications for the local government elections will close at midnight today (March 12).

Government officials and security personnel who wish to apply must submit their applications to the District Returning Officer of their respective polling area through the certifying officers.

Additionally, authorized representatives of recognized political parties contesting the elections for the 336 local government institutions must submit their letters of appointment to the Returning Officer of each institution by 8:30 AM on March 14.
