Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- Sri Lanka's Kumara Danushan showed remarkable grit to finish runner-up at the 64th Pakistan Amateur Golf Championship, held from September 4-7 at the Defence Authority Country and Golf Club in Karachi, Pakistan.
Though he narrowly missed out on the title by a single stroke, Danushan's performance proved that he is one of the most promising golfers from Sri Lanka, despite having limited overseas experience.
Danushan, who had been in the hunt all week, entered the final round chasing the leaders. He fought bravely, carding two birdies, but five bogeys forced him to sign for a three-over-par 75.
