Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- Sri Lanka's Asian Youth Games bronze medalist Kaya Daluwatte made a powerful start at the SINGHA Thailand Junior World Golf Championship 2025, firing an impressive one-under-par 71 on the opening day at the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.
The Royal Colombo Golf Club junior, who is also Sri Lanka's only WAGR-ranked golfer, showed remarkable composure and precision to finish tied for the lead in the Girls Division after Round 1. Daluwatte began her round with two early birdies, maintaining steady rhythm through the back nine to share the top spot with Thailand's Passion Hsu, while Japan's Rinka Nakayama trailed close behind at even par (72).
