Sri Lanka, Dec. 30 -- Cyclone Ditwah has caused significant damage to Sri Lanka's health sector, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs. 21 billion, Health and Mass Media Minister Nalinda Jayatissa stated.

The minister added that eight health institutions, including hospitals, were severely affected and will need to be rebuilt.

Minister Jayatissa made these remarks during a ceremony at the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, where letters of appointment were presented to newly appointed staff.
