Sri Lanka, Dec. 3 -- A gazette extraordinary has officially declared 22 districts in Sri Lanka as "National Disaster Affected Areas."

The declaration, issued under Section 9 of Part II of the Registration of Deaths (Temporary Provisions) Act, No. 19 of 2010, covers areas severely impacted by landslides and floods caused by Cyclone Ditwah in November.

The gazette was issued by Registrar General Sasidevi Jaladeepan to facilitate relief and administrative measures in the affected regions.
