Sri Lanka, Nov. 17 -- The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Response Forum reports that more than 6,700 cybercrimes have been recorded so far this year, marking a significant rise in online threats across the country.Sri Lanka Travel Guide

According to the Forum, around 600 incidents involving online harassment, threats, and financial fraud have been traced to social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp.

Officials further highlight that women, youth, and children remain the most vulnerable groups, with a growing number of cases linked to cyberbullying, online scams, and digital exploitation. The Forum urges the public to practice safe online behaviour and report suspicious activity promptly.
