Sri Lanka, Sept. 4 -- Customs officials seized a large consignment of illegal drugs worth an estimated Rs.312 million. The drugs were discovered in seven courier parcels that arrived at the Colombo Cargo Express, a private bonded warehouse in Seeduwa near Katunayake.
The seizure, which took place yesterday afternoon, included 23,642 ecstasy (methamphetamine) pills, 1.445 kilogrammes of cocaine, 993 grams of "Mandy" and 98 grams of "Ice".
The parcels were sent from Germany, the Czech Republic, Zambia, the United States, Canada and the Netherlands. They were addressed to fake locations in Colombo, Panadura, Wattala, Rajagiriya and Moratuwa.
