Sri Lanka, Sept. 3 -- Officers of the Customs Narcotics Control Division seized a consignment of drugs valued at Rs. 312 million on the afternoon of September 3, during inspections at Colombo Cargo Express, a private bonded warehouse in Seeduwa, Katunayake.

The haul included 23,642 ecstasy and methamphetamine tablets, 1.445 kg of cocaine, 993 g of methamphetamine, and 98 g of ice, concealed in seven courier parcels sent from Germany, Czech Republic, Zambia, USA, Canada, and the Netherlands.

The parcels had been addressed to fake recipients in Colombo, Panadura, Wattala, Rajagiriya, and Moratuwa. Following investigations, officers confirmed that the addresses were fictitious and that no one had attempted to claim the packages.
