Sri Lanka, Nov. 18 -- A consignment of Kush valued at Rs. 113.67 million was seized by Customs officers after a suitcase abandoned for nine months was opened and inspected at the Colombo Port yesterday (17).
The luggage had been brought by a passenger arriving from Bangkok, Thailand, on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-405 at 9.45 a.m. on March 17, 2025. The passenger left the suitcase behind at the Katunayake Airport arrivals terminal.
Airport Customs officers initially moved the unclaimed luggage to the abandoned baggage warehouse at Katunayake and later to the confiscated and abandoned goods warehouse at the Colombo Port.
