Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya stated in Parliament today (08) that the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs have conveyed the position of the government and administrative authorities in promoting Sri Lanka's tourism industry.
She emphasized that special groups will not be promoted in tourism, and it is the government's policy to implement the tourism business in a way that does not harm any person.
The Prime Minister made these remarks in response to a question from MP Kavinda Jayawardena on whether a decision has been taken to promote the foreign homosexual community in the country to boost tourism. At that time, MP Jayawardena said, "Do not make Sri Lanka a Thailand, we are against that."
