Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasuriya said the percentage of crimes investigated and solved by the Police had increased by around 50 to 60 percent in the past year.
The IGP said that this situation has been achieved due to the dedication and constant evaluation of the existing officers, even though the number of Police officers is not sufficient and there is a large shortage of staff.
