Sri Lanka, April 4 -- The Court of Appeal today (4) ordered the Returning Officers to re-accept nearly 37 nomination papers that had been rejected for the upcoming local government elections.
The ruling was delivered by a bench of judges comprising Acting President of the Court of Appeal, Mohamed Lafar Tahir, and K.P. Fernando.
The decision follows writ petitions filed by recognized political parties and independent groups, challenging the rejection of their nomination papers.
