New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- The Court of Appeal today (04) issued an interim order temporarily suspending the trial against Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security and retired Senior DIG, Ravi Seneviratne, which is currently being heard at the Mount Lavinia Magistrate's Court.
The case was filed against Seneviratne over allegations of driving under the influence of alcohol in 2023 and failing to prevent a road accident.
The interim order was issued after Seneviratne filed a petition seeking the transfer of the case to another court.
A two-judge bench comprising Justices Mayadunne Koraya and Mahen Gopallawa delivered the order after considering the submissions.
