Srilanka, April 30 -- Cabinet Spokesman and mass media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced that the Sri Lankan Government is set to conduct a countrywide economic census over a two-year period, spanning 2025 and 2026 which aims to update the data last collected during the 2013-2014 economic census, with a clear focus on separating and accurately assessing both agricultural and non-agricultural sectors.
Speaking at the weekly Cabinet press briefing he said that the Cabinet of Ministers has approved the proposal, which was presented by the President in his capacity as the Finance, Economic Planning and Development Minister.
