Sri Lanka, Aug. 15 -- The Bill to establish the Gambling Regulatory Authority has received the approval of the Committee on Public Finance(CoPF).
The Bill was approved at the meeting of the Committee on Public Finance held on Tuesday (12) under the Acting Chairmanship of MP Rauff Hakeem. Due to the overseas travel of the Chairperson of the Committee on Public Finance, MP Dr. Harsha de Silva, MP Rauff Hakeem was appointed as the acting chairperson of the committee.
The Bill was discussed on several occasions in the Committee on Public Finance and it provides for the establishment of the Gambling Regulatory Authority as an independent regulatory body with a broad scope to standardize betting and gaming establishments in Sri Lanka, minimiz...
