Sri Lanka, Jan. 29 -- The Urban Regeneration Project under the City of Colombo has officially restarted construction of the Torrington apartment complex, which consists of 115 housing units. The project, which began 14 years ago but was repeatedly halted, had remained largely inactive since 2017.

Minister of Transport Bimal Rathnayake announced the resumption of work on the project, noting that it had been a "nominal project" since 2017 without any actual construction. The minister emphasized that work has now commenced with the goal of completing the apartments and handing them over to beneficiaries within 24 months.
