Sri Lanka, Feb. 6 -- A small child who was outside on the ground floor died when a section of concrete collapsed on his head on the seventh floor of the Randiya Uyana housing complex in Modara, Colombo, on the night of the previous day (04).

The 7-year-old boy, Sandaruwan Mortier, died after being admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, hospital sources say.

The deceased child had been at the shop on the ground floor of the housing complex with his grandmother and great-grandmother on the Feb 4, and when the child came out of the shop, a section of the plaster fell off and fell on the child's head.

The injured child was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital by the people present there.
