Srilanka, March 19 -- A community-driven initiative successfully renovated the ward complex of Bakamuna Government Hospital, saving the government approximately Rs. 3.5 million.
The project was carried out under the leadership of Dr. Lahiru Sarathchandra, the Institutional Officer of Bakamuna Hospital, with support from Sarath Silva, a Melbourne-based Sri Lankan, and the North Melbourne Sri Lankan Association.
The renovation, which included painting and structural improvements, was made possible through the collective efforts of local volunteers.
