Sri Lanka, Nov. 13 -- The committee appointed to review and recommend the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) has officially submitted its report and recommendations to Minister of Justice Harshana Nanayakkara.

The committee, chaired by President's Counsel Rienzie Arsecularatne, was tasked with studying the potential repeal of the PTA and proposing suitable legislative measures. Its mandate also included engaging with civil society organizations and obtaining feedback from international institutions and communities to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive reform process.
