Srilanka, Feb. 21 -- The Ministry of Ports and Aviation Services says that operations at the Colombo Port West Terminal will begin by the 26.

Deputy Minister Ruwan Kodituwakku stated that a container ship is scheduled to arrive at the terminal.

2.7 million containers can be handled through the West Terminal per year.

Meanwhile, operations at the Colombo Port East Terminal are planned to begin next July.

Built using funds from the Ports Authority, it has an annual container handling capacity of 3 million.
