Srilanka, May 9 -- Deputy Minister Ruwan Kodituwakku has confirmed that operations at the Colombo Port have intensified in response to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
He stated that the port is now operating at maximum efficiency to manage the increased maritime activity caused by the regional conflict. According to the Deputy Minister, Indian naval movements and the suspension of a Pakistani vessel bound for India have contributed to the heightened activity at the port.
"We have taken all necessary steps to ensure smooth and efficient handling of shipping operations under these challenging circumstances," he noted, adding that the volume of port activity has notably increased in recent days.
