Sri Lanka, Sept. 27 -- The 26th Colombo International Book Fair commenced today (27) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) with much pride and enthusiasm.

The inaugural ceremony was held under the patronage of Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, and included the release of a special commemorative postage stamp marking this year's edition of the fair.

The event, which runs until October 6, drew a large crowd on its opening day, reflecting the continued popularity of one of Sri Lanka's premier cultural gatherings.
