Sri Lanka, May 30 -- The Committee of Inquiry (CoI) to inquire and report its findings on IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon against acts of gross abuse of power will commence hearing oral evidence and cross-examinations starting from June 11.
The proceedings are scheduled to continue from June 16 onwards. Following discussions at the Committee of Inquiry, several admissions were agreed upon by both the Attorney General's (AG) Department and the respondent IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon during the meeting of the Committee held at Parliament on Wednesday, May 28 which was chaired by Supreme Court Judge, Justice P. P. Surasena and comprising members Justice W. M. N. P. Iddawela and National Police Commission Chairman (ex-officio) Lalith Ekanayake.
