Sri Lanka, July 24 -- Mohammed Mihilar Mohammed Arshad (45), a close associate of notorious organized crime leader Kanjipani Imran, was arrested by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) upon arrival at Katunayake Airport this morning (24).
Arshad, a resident of Aduruppu Street in Colombo 13, was deported from India after being arrested by Indian security forces on July 22 for residing without a valid visa or passport. He arrived in Sri Lanka aboard IndiGo flight 6E-1171 at 2:30 AM today.
He had previously fled Sri Lanka to Dubai in 2017 and later moved to India in 2019 following the arrest of several underworld figures - including Makandure Madush - during a high-profile raid at a birthday party in Dubai.
