Sri Lanka, March 3 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has received a complaint regarding a group posing as fuel distribution agents allegedly attempting to disrupt fuel distribution and create public distress.

The issue is reportedly linked to a dispute over the discount offered by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

The Police Media Division confirmed that the CID has launched an investigation into the complaint. Authorities have also warned that legal action will be taken against those who interfere with public services and cause instability.
