Sri Lanka, April 12 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has obtained a 90-day detention order to further question former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, commonly known as Pillayan.
He was arrested in Batticaloa on the 8th of last month in connection with the 2006 disappearance of a university vice-chancellor in the Eastern Province.
Meanwhile, Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala informed Parliament that there is intelligence suggesting Pillayan may also be linked to the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attacks.
