Srilanka, March 18 -- China has decided to expand its fabric grant for Sri Lankan students in 2026, to encompass those engaged in studies outside of the formal school system.
China provided Sri Lanka with a grant of 100 percent of the school uniform fabric needed for the 2025 academic year, covering the entire requirement of 11,817 million metres of fabric for approximately 4.6 million students Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong on Friday said his country has decided to expand the fabric grant and it has already been decided to encompass student monks in the programme. He said a delegation from his country will decide on the extent of the expansion of the fabric grant.
