Sri Lanka, Dec. 9 -- China extended humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka yesterday (08) by donating 85 tonnes of flood relief supplies to aid communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah.

The consignment, valued at around Rs. 400 million, includes essential items such as life jackets, tents, blankets and sheets. It was handed over in Colombo by the Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Qi Zhenhong, marking one of the largest single relief donations received following the cyclone.

Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunathilake, together with Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), accepted the consignment on behalf of the Sri Lankan government.
