Srilanka, April 21 -- The Buddhasasana Ministry has taken steps to provide young children who have come to Kandy with their parents for the 'Siri Dalada Vandanawa', a special veneration of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the opportunity to draw pictures in order to relieve the stress they feel while waiting in queues for over a long period.
Accordingly, 500 young children waiting in queues get the opportunity to draw pictures on a daily basis.
Samantha Nagahatenna, Assistant Secretary in charge of Development Affairs at the Buddhasasana Ministry, said that under this programme, it is planned to provide 5,000 children with the opportunity to draw during the 10 days of the Exposition.
