Srilanka, July 16 -- In a video shared on social media, the Ministry of Transport and Highways announced that the construction of the Pothuhera-Rambukkana section of the Central Expressway has officially commenced.
The ministry further stated that land preparation in many areas is already in its final stages, paving the way for rapid progress in the coming months. According to the Road Development Authority, contractors for ABC paving and carpeting have already been selected through a competitive tender process, and contract awarding is expected soon.
The entire construction project is projected to be completed by January 2027, significantly enhancing connectivity and transportation infrastructure in the region.
