Sri Lanka, April 17 -- The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) strongly emphasised that despite the reduction in electricity generated from rooftop solar units due to low demand during the recent festive season, efforts were made to limit the use of oil-fired electricity.

CEB Spokesperson Dhammika Wimalaratne noted this in a news release issued to the media regarding the limitation of absorbing solar power during the festive season by the CEB.

In order to clarify the request for assistance from rooftop solar unit owners to manage the balance between supply and demand for electricity during the festive season, the CEB provided a summary of grid operations for April 11 to 13.
