Sri Lanka, Dec. 12 -- The Central Environmental Authority (CEA) has introduced a set of temporary criteria for managing waste generated as a result of the disaster caused by Cyclone Diva. These guidelines have been provided to all local government institutions for immediate implementation.

According to the CEA, the criteria cover the management of hazardous waste, clinical waste, electronic waste, and general solid waste. The Authority emphasized that these guidelines apply only to waste generated due to Cyclone Diva and do not replace the standard waste management regulations enforced under normal conditions.
